I am Ataur Rahman , General secretary of Bangladesh Journalists Rights Forum- BJRF. I born in Gazipur at village Haydarabad on lst march 1963. I completed masters in commerce from the department of Management of University of Dhaka in 1985. I joined the Bangladesh Human Rights Journalists Forum in 1999. I started my professional career as a district correspondent with the Dainik Desh in 1981. Later I joined with National Bengali daily The daily Janata as a staff reporter in 1985. I am founder and editor of the weekly newspaper named Weekly Bhawal establish in 1992. I worked with national Bengali dailies like the daily Janata, Muktakantha, Banglabazar Patrika and state owned National news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
I am a founder member of first executive Committee of Dhaka Reporters Unity-(DRU) for the period of 1995 to 1996 & 2007-2008. I am one the founder and executive committee member of Gazipur Press Club. I am a founder and Principal of Bhawal Ideal Academy.

Throughout the career I am contributed a lot in the profession as an active organizer for Human rights .
I have been working as an active member of the sub-committee (social gathering) of National press Club since 1999. Several times I am elected as a members of executive committee of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ). Now I am campaigning for the Human rights and safety for journalists and their unity on common issues of journalism in Bangladesh. I have been writing various articles on Human Rights, peace and Democracy, health , environment, agricultures, food and traveling, political and social issues as on various safety and peace rights .
I am author and writer of a historical book of "The Genealogical of the king of Bhawal and the Saint of litigation" (Bhawal Rajbangshaw o Shannashir Mamla). I am actively involved with various educational institutions including social and Human rights organizations at national and local level in Bangladesh. I have special training on human rights and conflict reporting jointly organised by USIP-IFJ. I am interest to learn and earn more experience especially on the field of Human rights, Democracy and Peace. Reading ,writing, traveling and information collection is my hobby.
