Pre-existing podsafe music libraries have failed to catch on in today's oversaturated media environment because their user-generated content lacks curatorial oversight. The FMA draws inspiration from the community-generated approach, but applies a curatorial layer that has traditionally distinguished broadcasters like WFMU. Each curator brings a unique lens, a local perspective, and a passionate audience. The FMA will be the only open source media community centered around established curators, respected artists, and participatory audiences.
