Debatepedia is essentially "the Wikipedia of pros and cons". It is an online wiki encyclopedia of pros and cons. Debatepedia is a project of the International Debate Education Association and is funded, in part, by the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation. Debatepedia aims to solve a problem in the journalism industry. Currently, public debates and pro/con editorials and essays are scattered across the Internet in thousands of newspapers and journals. The public discourse, therefore, is decentralized, disorganized, and hard to follow. Traditional newspapers and journals add to the public debate, but do not help organize it. Debatepedia helps respond to this problem by centralizing a public debate's pro and con arguments and quotations from the primary editorials and essays into a single pro/con encyclopedia. This allows citizens and leaders to fully understand the pro and con arguments in a debate so that they can much more effectively deliberate, take a stand, and take action.

I really like the idea.
Some thoughts:
* How to get users? The are so many sights out there gathering dust…
* it would really help to have widgets that people could post or even could be auto syndicated (ver tags) to other blogs and news sights with simple debate tasters to bring interaction to the main full debate sight.
* The interface is very busy (it’s a complex project so understand why) can it be streamlined as currently its off putting.
* Can it bring in upto date content automatically some how to keep debates relevant – ver RSS feeds and tagging etc?
