The innovation:
The news is too complex for most people to understand and get through it. 10 things makes it possible for anyone to be well informed, and understand the context and different perspectives on important issues.
10 things will work with area experts to quickly summarize the key bullets - not of what just happened, but of the contributing factors and the event's significance. Different lists could summarize different viewpoints.
For example - Why was last Falls Pakistani election important to the US? What were the real issues? Who was Benezir Bhutto? Why did Musharif dismiss the jusges?
Most people do not have an hour or more a day to read the news. The goal here is to give people a very well informed perspective in just a few minutes a day.
People cannot make good choices without information and insight. The goal is to make that insight available to every citizen.
